
Golden Grad Weekend is a special celebration for graduates who have already celebrated their 50th reunion. Our 2008 Golden Grad celebration will be held May 30-31, 2008.
2008 Golden Grad Weekend Schedule of Events 
Friday, May 30, 2008
8:30-9:15 a.m. Coffee in the Alumni Center lounge prior to departure for the URI Alton Jones Campus.
9:15 a.m.Shuttle departs for Alton Jones Campus.
10:00-11:30 a.m. Morning lecture choice, each with continental breakfast. “America’s Tsunami” with Dr. Stephen Grilli or "Frederick Tootell—Legend and Legacy” with Art Sherman ’50.
12 noon Luncheon buffet in the Whispering Pines Conference Center’s dining room.
1:30 p.m. Return to Kingston for afternoon activities.
2:30-3:30 p.m. Alumni Center (1st floor boardroom) “Fredrick Tootell— Legend and Legacy” with Art Sherman ’50.

2:30-3:45 p.m. Field trip to URI’s East Farm to learn about the work and research being done there. (Bus will depart for East Farm at 2:20 p.m.)
4:00.-5:30 p.m.Golden Grad and 1892 Society Reception
Join President Robert L. Carothers, fellow Golden Grads, and members of the 1892 Society for a reception with hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks at the President’s House.

9:00-10:30 a.m. Campus bus tour, starting and ending at the Alumni Center, with stops at Hope Commons and Watson Farm House.
10:45 a.m. Shuttle service departs from from Alumni Center to the Dunes Club in Narragansett
11:00 a.m.-noon Cocktail receptions at the Dunes Club in Narragansett for the Class of 1953 (55th reunion); Class of 1948 (60th reunion); and Class of 1943 (65th reunion).
Noon-3:00 p.m.Golden Grad Luncheon at the Dunes Club. See your friends and former classmates and get an update about the University from URI’s Vice President of Administration, Robert Weygand. (Valet Parking will be available).
3:00 p.m. Shuttle service departs from the Dunes Club to the Alumni Center.
On Campus Accommodations
Reservations may be made to stay on the Kingston Campus in one of our newest residence halls. Available May 29-June 1 (Thursday-Sunday). Cost is $48 per night for a single room (one twin bed) or $61 per night for a double room (two twin beds). These shared-suite style rooms have private climate control (with air conditioning) and semi-private baths. Towels and bed linens are included. Space is limited.
