 On Friday night, students were out in full force and Keaney Gymnasium was at near peak capacity for the Rhody Rally, where the energy was high, the crowd cheered for our athletic teams, and the Ramettes, Cheerleaders, Flava Unit, Pep Band, Drumline, and Gymnastics performed. All that good Rhody energy carried over to a great bonfire event and fireworks display.

Saturday was a beautiful day, perfect weather for football and another great URI tradition, the 7th annual Homecoming 5K Road Race, which gave the runners and walkers the opportunity to have a great campus tour. Race proceeds benefit the Rhody the Ram Scholarship. Participants in the Homecoming 5K can check the race results here.

Rhodyville, our first-even Homecoming tent village was a great success, with fifteen groups sponsoring tents this year, and scores of alumni, students, and friends dropping by. Congratulations to our premier Rhodyville tent prizewinners: Best Decorated Tent: Softball; Best Tent Sign: Women’s Track & Field; and Best Tent Activity: ROTC.

Although the URI Rams suffered a 44-27 loss to James Madison, the fans were loud and strong! The box office reported 4,614 tickets were sold for Saturday's game, and of those, 2,450 were student tickets—the greatest number sold since the 1986 season!
