President-Elect

Donald P. Sullivan ’71, North Kingstown, RI

Don holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island with a concentration in Accounting.  Don currently holds the position of Vice President on the Alumni Association Executive Board.  He is also a current member of the Alumni Association Audit Committee, Alumni Association Finance Committee, and Alumni Association Ram Fund Advisory Board.  He is a URI Foundation Trustee and an active member of the Rhode Island Alumni Chapter.  He was the recipient in 2002 of the Alumni Association Ram Award, which recognizes an individual who has unselfishly dedicated his/her efforts toward the betterment of the Alumni Association and/or the University as a whole, for a minimum of 25 years.  Don and his wife, Melanie, reside in North Kingstown.

Joseph M. Confessore ’96, Richmond, RI

Joe holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island with a concentration in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from Providence College.  He currently holds the position of Treasurer on the Alumni Association Executive Board.  Joe is also a current member of the Alumni Association Finance Committee, Funding Request Committee, and the Chapter Liaison Committee.  He is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and is an active member of the Rhode Island Alumni Chapter.  He and his wife, Bethany, reside in Richmond.

Susan R. Johnson 82, East Greenwich, RI

Susan holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island with a concentration in Accounting. She is a a current member of the Alumni Association Audit Committee and is an active member of the Rhode Island Alumni Chapter. Susan and her husband, Glen, reside in East Greenwich.

Louise H. Thorson M.B.A.’85, Providence, RI

Louise holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.  She is a current member of the Alumni Association Finance Committee and is a past member of the Alumni Association Government Relations Committee and Planning Committee.  Louise is an active member of the Rhode Island Alumni Chapter.  She and her husband, Richard, reside in Providence.

Andrew W. Wafula ’01, Newport, RI

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island with a concentration in Management Information System.  He is an active member of the Rhode Island Alumni Chapter and was a past member of the URI Men’s Basketball team.  Andrew was the recipient of the Black Scholar Award in 2001.  Andrew resides in Newport.

Laurel L. Bowerman ’77, M.B.A.’84, East Greenwich, RI

Laurel holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.  She is a current member of the URI Foundation Finance and Audit Committees and is a URI Foundation Trustee.  Laurel is a past member of the Alumni Association Government Relations Committee and the Planning Committee.  She is a member of Sigma Kappa and the Rhode Island Alumni Chapter.  Laurel and her husband, Seth, reside in East Greenwich.

Dr. Edward Bozzi, Jr. ’68, Providence, RI

Ed holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island with a concentration in Chemistry and a Doctorate from Brown University.  He is a current member of the Alumni Association Winter Gala Committee and an active member of the Rhode Island Alumni Chapter.  Ed is a member of Tau Epsilon Phi and is a member of the Brown Alumni Schools Committee.

Denise A. Coppa ’72, Ph.D.’02, North Kingstown, RI

Denise holds a Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate from the University of Rhode Island with a concentration in Nursing.  She is an Associate Professor in the University’s College of Nursing. Denise is a current member of the Rhode Island Alumni Chapter.  Denise and her husband, Michael, reside in North Kingstown.
