The award will foster statewide research in marine life science, workforce development and diversification, and science and design literacy.

Governor Donald L. Carcieri, Senator Jack Reed, and URI President David M. Dooley will remark on this unprecedented award, along with Vice President Peter Alfonso and representatives from Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design. Tours of the Rhode Island Genomics and Sequencing Center and light refreshments will follow the program.

We hope you will join colleagues, government officials, and our academic partners from eight institutions of higher education to celebrate the success and growth of the Rhode Island NSF EPSCoR collaborative initiative.
