In this special section of The University Pacer, you are invited to glimpse some of the capital improvement highlights from the last decade.
The last ten years have been marked by a period of significant growth and renovation to the facilities that house students, faculty and their research, health and recreation programs for the campus community, and the underground systems that support these activities and more.
To help fulfill the University’s teaching, research and service missions, more than $181 million from state, federal and private sources and $61 from state and University asset protection funds has been invested in the renovation and rehabilitation of existing URI facilities over the last decade.
The University is entrusted with the care of more than 300 buildings enclosing more than 4 million square feet of space on its four campuses and valued at some $300 million. There are 1,300 acres and 135 buildings on the Kingston Campus alone, as well as numerous facilities on its Narragansett, Feinstein Providence, and W. Alton Jones campuses.
Please step back and peruse some of the changes now in progress, those transformations that are complete, and those that are on the horizon.
