
Honors Colloquium lectures broadcast on CoxLectures from the 2002 URI fall Honors Colloquium, “Genetic Technology and Public Policy in the New Millennium,” are being broadcast in Rhode Island on Cox cable channel 23 throughout the winter. Three times a week during the month of February, two lectures will be broadcast.
On Mondays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Thursdays at 10 a.m., Cox will show the panel discussion on emerging ethical and social issues in the biotechnology industry. Moderated by URI College of Pharmacy Dean Donald Letendre, the panel includes industry leaders and URI alumni.
On Mondays at 10 p.m., Saturdays at 6 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m., a panel discussion entitled “How should the state and federal government respond to the genetics revolution?” will be broadcast. Participants include public health officials and state representatives.
