In the Galleries
The Corridor Gallery features Circadian, new work by URI Associate Professor of Art Sheri Wills, who teaches filmmaking and digital media. She continues her work with delicate Polaroid transfers, combining large scale Polaroids on watercolor paper and creating even larger Iris prints. On exhibit Nov. 6 through Dec. 11, with a brown bag gallery talk by the artist at noon on Nov. 10.
Opening Dec. 16 in the Corridor Gallery is Solstice, works on paper by Ruth Ann Howden and Joyce Sakala. Timed to coincide with the period of winter solstice, this exhibition combines the work of two Rhode Island artists manifesting individual aesthetic sensibilities yet guided by the same sources. For this project, the joint theme of the shortest day/longest night spawns both complex printmaking by Howden and collages by Sakala. Through Jan. 18, with a brown bag gallery talk by the artists at noon on Jan. 14.
