Correction

We stand corrected! Jennifer Hurtubise was not the first URI undergraduate to win a Fulbright Scholarship (July 2003 issue of the Pacer). We got a call from Carolyn Lafleur telling us that her late sister Sara Stauffer Whaley won a Fulbright in 1954 and studied at the University of Paris, Sorbonne. She returned to URI to earn a master’s degree in political science. Whaley later founded The Rush Publishing Company and was the editor of the journal Women Studies Abstracts.
